This is a great little article that CG Masters posted some time ago about dailies best practice.
No matter what aspect of the vfx production process you come from, be it cg, roto or comp, if you are new to the business and have dailies, this is a great article to read and take on board. Not that all places will want to run like this. Some places want to see where you are upto at days end (indeed I quite like having the two dailies sessions a day where the over all lead see’s things at the end of the day and adds suggestions, etc, then if they’re small you can get the notes done before the main dailies the next day with the vfx supervisor.
